Creating in the Chaos: What’s Actually Working for Me
We are over a month into falling in love with creating again. Life be life-ing these days. Work is busy, along with normal life. This is what the real world of creating looks like, right?
Right, so this is the true test to figure out how to still have fun and avoid burn out. Here’s how I did it these past 2 weeks.
Batch Your Content
I intentionally set 1.5 hours aside to just knock out the week, and it worked wonders! Before I did this, I found that I would wait until the last minute to post, which left me forcing myself to be creative right before bed when I had ZERO energy left. Definitely, not a good plan.
Having the hour and a half allowed me to edit my videos, create my captions, and schedule for the entire week. I did this in the morning since I find that I have the most creative energy during this time. I will 100% continue this.
Brain Dump Your Ideas
To make my 1.5 hours even better, any time I have an idea of social, I would write it in my notes on my phone. That way, when I created my videos, I wasn’t starting from scratch.
Honesty Is The Best Policy
As a recovering perfectionist, this one is tough. My best performing post was one that I didn’t even plan for. My pasta was a complete disaster, and as I was trying to finish it, I whipped out my phone and recorded a spur of the moment thought. I feel like it gained traction because I was relatable, honest, and simply myself. This here builds community.
Overall, this week was all about finding the system that helps me save time and tap into my creativity when I’m at my best. I think it has been a success!
