Cheers to week 3 of consistency! It not what I thought…
I thought by now the excitement would have already worn off, but I am still truly enjoying creating content. I do feel that some days are easier than others. However, not once have I felt inauthentic because time was short. Here’s what I’ve done to keep that ‘magic’ alive.
Record in a way that feels natural to you.
I have found that the leave it and forget it method has worked for me, especially when I am trying to finish meal prepping for the week but want to capture content.
What could this look like for you? If you are someone who wants to get it all done at one time, maybe batching your content in one sitting is the way to go. If you’re more like me, set up your camera and go about your day like normal.
Don’t get swept up in the numbers.
Even though this is rule #1 with my clients, I sure did find myself checking how many views I got, how many likes, did I go viral???
I ended up flipping the script and am now treating the insights as my feedback. I compare similar types of videos to see what is performing better. Ex: voiceover vs no voice with music, storytelling vs quick tutorials
Instead of letting the insights control you, you are using them as a tool to help understand what resonates with others in order to build community.
Authenticity does not equal sharing your entire life!
This kinda hit home both for a client of mine and me this week. Many times, as we get deeper in the world of content creation, it’s easy to feel like you have to share everything. I’m here to remind all of us YOU DON’T HAVE TO. In one of my videos, I didn’t feel the most confident in myself, so instead of forcing myself to share that, I simply deleted it. Was that content that was already created? Yes, but I also have the autonomy to choose what I want to share and what I don’t want to share.

All in all, this week was a good one! I feel like now that I have my recording set up figured out. I am going to continue to work on storytelling and getting ahead. (We all know how lofty that one can be!)
